Feedback on 'Running headers and footers' suggestion

What is the motivation to 'be able to insert the current date/time into the
header/footer area' (according to 'Running headers and footers' proposal
[1])?

This condition doesn't seem to make much sense since it's far more important
to visualize the last (textual) update, so I disagree. By the way, also see
Jakob Nielsen's remarks on problems with undated and misleadingly dated
content, e.g. due to file modification dates [2].

All the best,
 Jens.
