This comes up once or twice a year. The answers usually are:

  - if you want to do it, please don't hesitate
  - it should be trivial to implement using a SAC2SAX filter
  - you may or may not wish to use XPath + some specific functions for CSS
  - you may or may not wish your vocabulary to reflect CSS's full complexity
