That's wrong as well.
Plus, if the <span> tag would be deprecated, wouldn't the <span id="test">
or </span> tags also be? ;)

Nope, <http://www.w3.org/TR/2003/WD-xhtml2-20030131/mod-text.html#sec_8.18.>
still has it, but the 'style' attribute is currently gone.

P.S.: Not tags, but elements (or attributes) get deprecated.
