Re: Standards Compliance and msn [off-topic]

I apologize for the off-topic post, and promise this
will be my last on this subject.

I think it is safe to say that Chris and Tantek do not
know why the decision was made at MSN, nor should they
be expected to answer. The questions at the end were
rhetorical.

I brought this subject up because I think Chris and
Tantek add a lot to this list and the css
specification, and because what is said on this list
and other forums is twisted by marketing in ways not
intended by those posting here. There has been a lot
of bragging recently about standards compliance in IE
vs. IE Mac vs. mozilla vs. Konqueror vs. Opera, and by
the time this reaches marketing, we get things like
yesterday's MS quotes, and the quotes by former
Netscape employees. Internet Explorer's support pages
and documentation are laced with marketing bragging
about IE's compliance with specifications which is
difficult to stomach at times.

I'm not going to post on the list about this any more
as I feel bad about wasting people's time with
off-topic postings. Feel free to email me directly if
you'd like to continue this discussion.
