BeCSS status?

This is my first post to this list, and I hope it is not too redundant. I
did a quick check of the archives and didn't find much.
I'd like to ask about the status of Behavio(u)ral Extensions for CSS.
I have done some development with the IE5 behaviours, and am playing a
little with the Mozilla "XBL" functionality right now.

My experience is that a system like the IE5 Behaviours can be of immense
benefit when developing (more) complex UI elements with HTML and ECMAScript.

Is there still some activity around this area in the w3c? In the CSS group?
