A new definition of absolute positioning is proposed to replace the current text in CSS2. It adds a value 'static-position' to 'top', 'left', etc., to partly replace the overloaded 'auto' and specifies that positioned elements take on the height of their content, just like other block-level elements (and as implemented in most browsers, but unlike the old definition). The new text can be found at the bottom of the errata for CSS2: http://www.w3.org/Style/css2-updates/REC-CSS2-19980512-errata Bert -- Bert Bos ( W 3 C ) http://www.w3.org/ http://www.w3.org/people/bos/ W3C/INRIA bert@w3.org 2004 Rt des Lucioles / BP 93 +33 (0)4 92 38 76 92 06902 Sophia Antipolis Cedex, FranceReceived on Tuesday, 24 October 2000 08:56:40 GMT
