Certainly this is something that often comes up on the Java Speech APi lists, and they can't do it through that API yet because the interface to Java Sound is not properly defined - so that's one class of engine out unless someone has done some lower level hackery. Still there are many non Java based speech synthesiser APIs so such a service might exist. AndyT
