CSS vs. Hyperlinks?

I have a slight problem. In Netscape Communicator 4 for MacOS, this
class apparently cancels hyperlinks:

A.button {background-color: blue; color: white; border: blue outset
0.2em; margin: 0em; text-align: justify}

When I specify my links as <A class="button">, the browser does not
treat them as hyperlinks. Is this a replicable problem with NC4, or do I
just have a bad executable?
