The SYMM WG believes that this is a nice idea for a future version of SMIL, but right now we are committed to CSS2 support. Changing at this point would introduce an unjustified burden for implementers and thus endanger acceptance of other SMIL 3 enhancements. We have added this to the wish-list for a next-generation version of SMIL. Please answer this email, saying that you agree (or disagree) to the resolution of the SYMM WG.
