In addition to peer-reviewed papers, ICARIS 2013 will present a range of plenary lectures and tutorials to inspire and facilitate both the computer scientists and immunologists in their future and current work. Important Dates: Paper submission: 24nd April 2013 Author notification: 28th May 2013 Camera Ready submission: 18th June 2013 Invited Keynote Speakers: We have a variety of prestigious speakers for this year's conference, which we hope will be of interest to participants of both tracks. We are pleased to announce the following plenary speakers to date: * Pietro Lio', University of Cambridge, UK * Natalio Krasnogor, University of Nottingham, UK * Benedict Seddon, National Institute for Medical Research, UK * Alan Winfield, University of the West of England, UK Conference Location: This conference is hosted by the University of Nottingham, and will be held at the East Midlands Conference Centre, situated on the University Park Campus. New for 2013, onsite hotel accommodation will be available at a competitive delegate rate. The University of Nottingham is easily accessible by public transport, 15 minutes from Nottingham City Centre. Nottingham is located in central England, 25 minutes taxi from Nottingham East Midlands Airport, and 1 hr 45 mins from London St Pancras on the Midland Mainline. Submission Guidelines: As the previous editions, ICARIS 2013 is divided into two main tracks: * Computational Immunology & Immunoinformatics * Immune-inspired Computing - Track on Computational Immunology & Immunoinformatics This track aims is to attract researchers from computer science, information science, engineering, biomathematics, biomedicine, bioinformatics, systems biology, and immunology to share and exchange their knowledge of state-of-the-art research issues, methodologies, ideas, and challenges. In this track, authors are requested to submit an abstract up to 500 words in length, one figure and references.Topics of interest include but are not limited to: * Immune modelling; * Structural Immunoinformatics; * Epitope analysis and prediction; * Analysis and prediction of MHC-peptide binding; * Databases and ontologies for Immunoinformatics; * Analysis and prediction of minor histocompatibility antigens; * Predictive models on organ transplantation; * Immunogenomics; * Vaccine design; * Multi-agent based models of immunity; * Gene networks and systems biology in immunity; * Allergenicity prediction; * Theoretical Immunology * Quantitative Immunology The deadline for abstract submissions is on or before the 24nd April 2013. All accepted abstracts will be published in a book of abstracts. During submission please indicate you are submitting for the Computational Immunology & Immunoinformatics track. All abstracts will undergo a quick review process for relevance to the conference and technical accuracy. Presentations will be approx. 15 minutes for each paper in this track, though we reserve the right to allocate a poster presentation slot to abstracts if necessary. Submission: 500 word (plus one figure) abstract Deadline: 22nd April System: Easychair https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=icaris2013 - Track on Immune-inspired Computing This track is for research into the development and application of artificial immune systems. This includes: * Research describing applications of AIS to computational and engineering problems * Theoretical analysis of immune inspired algorithms (e.g. mathematical modelling of algorithms, convergence analysis, empirical investigation into algorithm performance and complexity analysis) * Hybrid algorithms * Novel immune algorithm development. For research pertianing to engineering and computational applications we expect the problem domain to be clearly explained in your submission. This should include why it is challenging and why AIS are a suitable methodology to use. For empirical research, experiments should be carefully explained, with the expectation that appropriate statistical analysis of results will be used to support conclusions. Where possible, the approach taken should be compared with alternative strategies. In order to appeal to the widest audience, theoretical papers must ensure that mathematical arguments and backgrounds are clearly presented. Where possible the submission should also discuss the practical implications of any theoretical results. In this track authors may submit their manuscripts as EITHER an abstract paper or regular paper, both of which may qualify for an oral or poster presentations. Abstract papers will be given approx. 15 minutes to present, full papers approx. 20 minutes (tbd). * Regular Paper Submission: 24nd April 2013 All papers will undergo a double blind peer-review process. Authors are requested to submit a PDF file in the first instance to: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=icaris2013 following the formatting instructions at the Springer-Verlag LNCS site, no later than the submission deadline: 24 April 2013. Papers should be a maximum of fourteen (14) pages. As this is a double blind process it is recommended that authors name and affiliation should not appear on the paper upon submission. All accepted papers, as for the previous editions, will be published in Springer's series Lecture Notes in Computer Science. If you wish to present a poster and do not wish to be considered for oral presentation, then please indicate this when you submit the abstract. We reserve the right to allocate poster presentation slots to submissions that have requested oral presentation. The authors of the best regular papers will be invited to extend their work for publication in the journal Natural Computing. * Abstract Submission: 24nd April 2013 All abstracts will undergo a quick review process for relevance to the conference and technical accuracy. Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words, include no more than one figure and include appropriate references. If you wish to present a poster and do not wish to be considered for oral presentation, then please indicate this when you submit the abstract.
