account the diversity, bias and opinion present in the vast amount of
information available on the Web. The FP7 SYNC3 project focuses on
collaborative creation of user-provided content with a particular focus on
news items, in collaboration with another leading search engine. Finally,
STELLAR is a European Network of Excellence on Technology Enhanced learning,
with a focus on Web 2.0 infrastructures and collaboration.

Your research will focus on topics in the following areas

in a challenging and unique research environment. Two or three of the
positions will be involved in project management, with the usual EU FP7
project management tasks.

topics specified in this announcement. This includes information retrieval and
search, machine learning, database and information systems, semantic web
technology, natural language processing and linguistic methods, social
software and technology enhanced learning.

Good proficiency in English is expected, as well as an outstanding M.Sc. or

skills as well as knowledge of a third European language are useful, but not
mandatory. International experience during your studies or afterwards, as
well as good social and communication skills are helpful.

The salary amounts to German TV-L E13/E14, which is roughly 40.000 to 50.000
