  INVITATION FROM GENERAL CHAIR

Within an attempt to find solutions to today’s World
Crisis the IEEE International Conference on Industrial
Informatics - INDIN03 (to be held in Banff, Canada,
August 21-24, 2003) - will bring together a blend of
academic and industry leaders into a synergetic forum
for discussion and exchange of ideas on the most
  advanced Information and Communications Technologies
R&D areas supporting today’s dynamics through
innovative solutions for avoiding surprise and
emergency response management in all areas of our
life. Please join us in the beautiful and peaceful
  environment of Banff National Park
  [http://www.banffcentre.ca/] and let your spirit
vibrate with ours in synergetic creativity.

The best papers of each track will be selected for
publication (in extended version) in Special Issues of
the upcoming IEEE Transactions on Industrial
  Information Technologies.

We plan to arrange a bouquet of the best reputable
Keynote Speakers and the technical issues will be
deepened by Tutorials. Confirmed speakers are for now:
Prof. Lotfi A. Zadeh from U C Berkeley, Prof. Tharam
Dillon from La Trobe University Australia, Craig
  Larman from IntelliAgile.

We have arranged an excellent deal with the Banff
Center that will include breakfast and lunch as well
as a major percentage from the Banquet (held at the
Center as well) in the room cost. Therefore we
strongly recommend that you stay at the Conference
  hotel.

For an extended stay in our beautiful Province of
Alberta – we recommend that you consider as well
attending the International Conference of Intelligent
Agent Technologies, Calgary, Alberta, August 27-29,
  2003 [http://www.iiasr.org/ATS/index.php]. We will try
to arrange for a joint Conference Fee for those of you
  wanting to attend both events.
It is as well planned that the meeting of the
Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents will take
place at the Banff Center in conjunction with INDIN03.

Technical Tours to Calgary’s ICT focal points: TR
Labs; iCORE Labs; Faculty of Engineering at The
University of Calgary, etc. will highlight your visit
  here.

Recreational possibilities abound in August in the
Rocky Mountains! (Everything will be posted on the
  Conference web site.)

I look forward to share with you the excitement of
contributing together to this critical facet embraced
by our World lately, as well as to have you all
distinguished guests in Canada this summer!

  Mihaela Ulieru
  General Chair INDIN03
