Alpha Release of DAML+OIL plugin for Protege

We are excited to announce the alpha release of the DAML+OIL
plugin for Protege-2000. The plugin allows users to read, edit, and
generate DAML+OIL ontologies.
An online tutorial, downloads and installation instructions can be found
at
http://www.ai.sri.com/daml/DAML+OIL-plugin/

There are some restrictions in the current release. Details are
documented at
http://www.ai.sri.com/daml/DAML+OIL-plugin/restrictions.htm

For the plug-in to work properly, you need to have a build 1040 or later

of the Protege version 1.8. To find out the version and build of your
current Protege installation, run Protege, click on the "Help" tab and
choose "About Protege-2000...". If necessary, download the latest build
of the Protege version 1.8 at http://protege.stanford.edu/download.html.

If you have comments, questions, find bugs, or run into problems using
the plug-in, please let us know by sending email to
daml+oil-plugin-admins@ai.sri.com.

If you intend to use the plugin, we recommend that you sign up for
the moderated, low-volume mailing list by sending mail to
daml+oil-plugin-request@ai.sri.com with "subscribe" in the subject line.

We announce bug fixes and new releases on this mailing list.

We hope the plugin will help you with your ontology-building tasks.
Enjoy!
