Dear Colleagues

The world's largest gathering of researchers in computer science & engineering, applied computing and information systems will be held in June 2005. You are invited to submit a draft paper for the 2nd special session on the application of Computational Intelligence methods for Business Intelligence at the 2005 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IC-AI’05), one of 30 research conferences.

Business intelligence (BI) represents a broad category of applications, technologies and methods to enhance managerial decision making in public and corporate enterprises from operational to strategic level. Methods from Computational Intelligence (CI), including neural, fuzzy and evolutionary computation, support vector machines as well as particle swarms, artificial immune systems etc. have proven increasingly effective in supporting these decisions. All accepted and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings and considered for specific journals. Please see instructions below.

TOPICS OF INTEREST

Methods (include but are not limited to):

- artificial neural networks (all paradigms)

- fuzzy, evolutionary & hybrid methods

- support vector machines (all paradigms)

The first page of the draft paper must include: title of the paper, name, affiliation, postal address, E-mail address, telephone & Fax number for each author, indicating the name of the author who will be presenting the paper (if accepted) & a maximum of 5 keywords. Papers will be refereed for originality, significance, clarity and soundness by at least two independent reviewers in the topical area.

Categories of accepted daft papers include:

     (RRP) Regular Research Papers

7-page IEEE-style publication in the proceedings.

            20-minute formal presentation slot.

Presentation in an informal setting (during

            Discussion Sessions.)

CAMERA READY PAPERS

The length of the camera ready papers accepted will be limited to 7 IEEE style pages. Standard IEEE templates & typing instructions, copyright forms, conference registration forms etc. will be supplied upon acceptance. After the conference, selected papers will be considered for publication in appropriate journals and special issues. All conference proceedings are considered for inclusion in major database indexes that are designed to provide easy access to the current literature of the sciences (e.g.: ISI Thomson Scientific, IEE INSPEC ...). Presentation time and form will be limited to 20 minutes depending on the submission category
