CALL FOR TUTORIALS


 

 

 Deadline for submission: October 15th, 2004 and 10 days before the publication of each issue

 

 

AIS SIGSEMIS Bulletin initiates from the issue of October 2004 a new section entitled Tutorials. The main objective of this section is to help newcomers in the field to understand the basics of Semantic Web (Technologies, Languages, Applications, Tools, Models, Theories, Domains). 

 

In this context we invite Tutorials in three forms:

 

1.                   Articles no more than 5000 words that discuss the relevant theme (e.g. "Introduction to OWL", "Understanding Ontologies", "Emergent Semantics", "Peer to Peer and SW" and in general provide an overview of the relevant theme with discussion of literature, approaches and open research issues. 

2.                   Powerpoint /PDF presentations, that provide an introduction to the relevant theme and can be used and for teaching purposes. These will be placed as summaries in Bulleting and will be available for download through SIGSEMIS Portal. 

3.                   Literature Reviews from PhD students, that provide an intensive discussion of relevant themes. All these literature reviews will gain a unique citation.

 

For the October Issue we invite tutorials that are related to the following topics:

 

*	

	Introduction to Semantic Web
*	

	Understanding Ontologies
*	

	Introduction to RDF 
*	

	Introduction to OWL

Added Value:

 

All the tutorials will be placed in a special issue that will form also an electronic book entitled Your Guide to Semantic Web, available at the July 2005.
