We are pleased to announce the release of version 0.4 of the
Sesame server. It can be downloaded from:

  http://sourceforge.net/projects/sesame/

under the terms of the LGPL. An online demonstration can be
found at:

  http://sesame.aidministrator.nl/

The software has been improved and extended considerably since
the previous version.

Sesame is a storage and retrieval facility for RDF and RDF
Schema. Its main features are:

- support for persistence in either MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- support for the RDF Schema Query Language (RQL).
- support for the RDF Data Query Language (RDQL).
- support for adding and deleting statements.
- support for exporting ontology and/or data as serialized XML.
- an RDF Model Theory inferencer that computes the closure of an
  RDF Schema.
- A Truth Maintenance System that preserves consistency of the
  repository over delete operations.
- communication through HTTP.
- a Java client library for easy embedding of HTTP communication
  in client applications.
- RDF SAIL: a Java API for storing and retrieving RDF and RDFS.
- RDF Explorer: a web-based tool for walking/clicking through
  RDF graphs stored in Sesame.

More extensive information can be found at the websites
mentioned above.

We would welcome your feedback and comments.
