What exactly do you mean by "one's state at His return"? Do you mean if they
are physically dead, but saved?

My reference was to John 14 and that of Mansions, I believe that 1 Peter 2
refers to the body(church) in this present age as stated. But in John 14
Jesus refers to the future in the next verse V3 " And if I go and prepare a
place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I
am, [there] ye may be also. This to me refers to His second coming when we
will all be changed, or risen . All depending on ones state at His return,
and it is those bodies I am referring to.

Rory,

You seem to be reading something into 1Peter 2 that is not there when I read
it.  Maybe you should point out how this only applies to only a glorified
body in some future reality.
