Choosing XML Schema vs. RDF Schema

Hi friends.

I have to expose some information of my company to the web.I know that there
are two manners of expose this information: Defining and publishing one or
more XML Schema's, and publishing xml documents for this schema. The other
manner is define one or more RDF Schema, and publishing rdf documents. 

I don't still understand very well the benefits of publishing the
information of my company as rdf documents.

¿Can anybody explain me the benefits of RDF vs. XML?¿Where can I read
anything about this?
