Given there are no errata for RDF Schema I may well be wrong here!

Anyhow, shouldn't the definition be as follows?:

    <rdfs:Class rdf:ID="ContainerMembershipProperty">
        <rdfs:subClassOf
rdf:resource="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#Property" />
*->     <rdfs:domain rdf:resource="#Container" />
    </rdfs:Class>
