Everyone, There's been a discussion on the semantic-web list regarding RDF vCard, and I've been asked to share some of the discussion with this group because my current RDF vCard proposals relate to RDF iCalendar. As a bit of a background, I'm attaching two documents. The first is an article I was writing, before I became aware of the semantic-web RDF vCard effort, addressing why an RDF vCard format is needed and advocating an approach to combining directory, vCard, and iCalendar. The second document is a process document we've been discussing on the list. It systematically takes [RFC 2425] (Directory), [RFC 2426] (vCard), and [RFC 2445] (iCalendar) in an effort to create a consistent set of RDF ontologies from them. I realize that there has been substantial work on RDF iCalendar. It's important at least to me personally that there is no duplication or inconsistencies in RDF vCard/iCalendar work. I welcome your comments, and feel free to join future semantic-web and/or online meetings regarding our effort. Garret
