Although the "In Process" extensions are efficient, I believe there is a
fundamental flaw in this architecture. Once an extension is loaded into the
server's address space there is a real danger that a failure within the
extension could cause the server's memory space to become corrupt, crashing the
server. It's the old trade off between speed and stability.
