QA Activity and Future of QA IG

Dear QA IG,

As you may have read in the minutes[1] of the QA WG at the last F2F
in Dublin, the QA Activity is closing and the QA WG is finishing as
well. We produced a certain number of documents that we are in the
process of publishing this week and next week, I believe (See the
list below).

QA at W3C
The in-reach QA will continue at W3C. Inside the W3C, the
Conformance Manager (myself for now) will push and keep an eye to
encourage quality among WGs. The culture of Quality has already taken
off and we see very good work happening in most of the WGs now. The
Matrix[2] is one of the ways you can see that.

Future of QA IG

We thought that it was very important to keep a forum where the
quality could be pursued:
     - Maintenance of W3C QA WG Notes
     - Publication of articles and/or new documents (W3C IG Notes)
     - Discussions of test cases and many other things.

So we are in the process of asking for a rechartering of the QA
IG. If accepted, there will a form to invite participation to the QA
IG. All participants of this list are encouraged to *participate*.
Efforts will be made to gain a wider participation. Most people of
the QA WG have expressed interests to participate in a new QA IG with
a desire to meet at the W3C Technical Plenary.

I'll give more news when things are finally decided.
