Lynne and I had an action item to draft specific wording to be added to SpecGL (that we both agree with) that would satisfy Issue 97. We propose to add a new clarifying paragraph to Guideline 9 that says the following: "Extensions can be implemented individually (one function at a time) or by defining new profiles, modules or levels that incorporate additional functionality beyond what is defined in the specification." We suggest adding this paragraph before the checkpoints are enumerated and directly following the paragraph that begins: "Extensions may be private . . ." No other modifications to SpecGL are necessary.
