RAND does not have support...

I hope that reason and common sense will prevail
and the RAND proposal will be immediately withdrawn.

Even a cursory review of feedback indicates an
overwhelming concensus that the 'public' doesn't
want standards that are encumbured with patents 
that require payment of royalities.

It doesn't seem to matter which argument is right
or wrong, sentiment is so strongly opposed to RAND 
that its implementation will surely be undermined and
a recipe for disaster.
