CMT vs ActiveMovie

I'm planning to build a streaming MPEG player in order to implement 
some real time mechanisms.
I've heard about the Berkeley's CMT and Microsoft's ActiveMovie SDK.
The application will run over W95.
Could you tell me something about these two SDKs ?
Have you worked with any of these?
