there are links to a (normative) DTD and (non-normative) XSD schema in
appendix A of the MathML2 spec.

The links are as follows, but best to start from the spec which has the
descriptive text.

For MathML3 we plan to make the RelaxNG schema normative and derive DTD
and XSD from that, although the current MathML3 draft just gives the
Relax NG Schema, again in appedix A.
