Yes, application/mathml+xml is supposed to be used for standalone MathML (i.e. XML documents with MathML 'math' element as a root). Formally registration process is still not finished, but media type is in use already.

application/xml and text/xml are also acceptable.

P.S. In case of compound documents containing MathML, media type depends on host language. For XHTML+MathML documents application/xhtml+xml, application/xml or text/xml should be used.
