Dear Friends,

I found the "update notice", dated 23 January, that is appended below
at http://www.stixfonts.org/.

      STIX Fonts Project Update

      Design Review Continues; Remaining Packaging
      Issues Will Delay Beta Release

Parallel efforts continue on completing the design review and
resolving packaging issues. A re-alignment of glyphs into
separate fonts for Unicode glyphs and non-Unicode glyphs has
solved many of the open issues, but problems with getting
browsers to properly display Plane 1 glyphs (the math alphabets)
remain. We are getting some assistance from Microsoft and
Firefox, but so far these issues are not resolved. We do not
want to release the beta fonts until we have answers to these
questions. It now appears that the earliest that we will be
able to release the beta test version is near the end of
February. A further update with more details will be provided
      the week of 29 January.

This site was last updated on January 23, 2007. We will make
every effort to provide weekly updates until the beta test fonts
      are released.

Please direct any questions to the STIX Fonts project
