By that line of reasoning, why even state the character names at all, since 
it is a duplication of information?  Better to just have just rows of:
...
   <!ENTITY hellip   "&#8230;">
   <!ENTITY prime    "&#8242;">
   <!ENTITY Prime    "&#8243;">
...
It's a special case of "better to never try, than to maybe fail once".
