cooperation xmlrpc-c and w3c-libwww

I tried to install xmlrpc-c-0.9.9 on my linux box
with support for ssl.
For this purpose xmlrpc-c requires w3c-libww and openssl.
I installed both(w3c-libwww-5.4.0/openssl-0.9.6d), 
but I encounter still a compile error by compiling xmlrpc-c.
However, I googled and figured out that I need a "ssl glue"
library that provide some missing functions.
Where to get this library ?
Any hints?
