POST...data

Could somebody give me a guide, or references to some place (possible
w3.org) where I can found the information about the exact form of the POST
method?
The thing is that I am trying to open a connection (tcp) to the port 80 and
POST some data (arguments) in order to be processed by one cgi program, and
I mast to know the exact form of the POST method.
Also I receive examples. :)
