Moving from alpha ? from Budd, Sinclair on 1997-03-10 (www-jigsaw@w3.org from March to April 1997)

I am being pressed to start using the 
NT server for our NT sites.  Currently
we run Cern servers only ( unix sites ). 

Ideally I would like to run the same server on
both NT and Unix but the alpha status repels
my superiors.

Is there any  timing on the transitions
from alpha to beta or better?
