Follow-Up to Proxying on Extensions Question

Hi,

Looking in the code for the SampeResourceIndexer class, looks like the
createResource
and createVirtualResource methods both will return null if there is not a
file on disk.  

Is there a way around this?
If not, the implication is that I will not be to play my "proxy off an
extension" game without
hacking on the indexer :(
