Admin. robustness

Yes, indeed. There is work currently on that area, through a remote
admin facility. The results of that work should be:

a) A spec for a remote admin protocol (currently under work)
b) A GUI config tool (may be an applet, for the time being a full app)

In the meantime, we'll have to live with the BadThings(tm)
