Undeprecated removals in XHTML 1.1

There are some elements and attributes removed in XHTML 1.1 which
isn't presentational and hasn't been deprecated before. I can't
really see why. Can someone please give me a breef explanation?

The elements and attributes I'm thinking about are:
* object
* base
* accesskey in a
* tabindex in a
