       Just thought I'd throw this idea out, and see what you all think of it.  Image maps that have a style control, so you can make the actual clickable area highlighted.  This way, the area a person can click on is visible to them, and programmers would have control of color or thickness of these lines.  While for some maps, this would actually be worse, there are instances that this could help a great deal.
