Your ideas might go further if you trained yourself in Web terminology.
You could re-read the XML spec, for instance:

This sentence is totally meaningless. It could be interpreted as:

"The problem could be solved with the addition of an extent sub-element
to the paragraph element."

or

"The problem could be solved with the addition of an extent attribute to
the paragraph element."

If you call things "tags" which are *not* tags, then we can't understand
what you are saying.
