Ummm... are you saying that
<pre>

</pre>
does not create 2-3 blank lines on your browser
unless you follow it with "&nbsp;<br>"?

We know that multiple <BR>s do not always work,
which is why MZ suggested using a <pre> block
(and that is what I, too, have been using).
