Gregory - there are many, many ways in which it is possible to
imagine FORMS being enhanced.
I suggested a few myself a while ago even (sliders/dials, multi-click
windows, and cascading/pull-right selection windows). Your
multi-column idea is another valid one (though I'd like to be able
to select just one field rather than a whole row).
My impression is that FORMS are not being developed or considered
much these days, particularly since JAVA came along.
I think this is a shame, since FORMS offered a relatively simple
method of scripting inter- or intranet hosted GUI's onto a variety
of legacy applications (such as databases), particularly by people
like me who have not been able to find the time to learn OO programming.
