Re: legal status of &copy

It would be my understanding that, regardless of a specified copyright, there
is always an implied copyright which is intended to protect what would be
considered "intellectual property." However, I am not a legal authority.
Yet, it would seem to me that copying something that is not yours, and then
trying to pass it off as being yours, would constitute plagiarism, which
would thus be considered an offense porsecutable in court (??). Just my
$.02 on the subject.
