Inconsistent or incorrect examples in http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/

Hello,

In http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/, at http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/#C_2,  
we read:

     Include a space before the trailing / and > of empty elements,
     e.g. <br />, <hr /> and <img src="karen.jpg" alt="Karen" />.

Later, at http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/#h-4.6, we see:

     CORRECT: terminated empty elements

     <br/><hr/>

These are inconsistent, and perhaps in error.
