The working group is aware of the risks associated with duplicating content. 
Our publication system permits us to have multiple uses of the same source, and
we are taking advantage of this feature to ensure that the substantive aspects
of the role attribute module are consistent between this module and its use in
XHTML 2. 

We considered removing the role attribute definition from XHTML 2 altogether,
but in the end decided it would make that specification even harder to read. 
Moreover, it is possible that the definition of Role will expand by the time
XHTML 2 is a recommendation.
