XHTML 1.1 and Java Applets from David Newell on 2005-01-30 (www-html-editor@w3.org from January to March 2005)

to make XHTML 1.1 compatible. I know an earlier working draft of this
specification included the <applet> tag; however, the recommendation
does not. I was wondering either when the <applet> tag will be
included, or the recommened work-around for this issue.
