I'm not sure, but at the following page 
http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/html4-updates/errata, there should be a link error:
The link of the following text 'Errata in the 24 April 1998 version of HTML 
4.0' should be 
http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/html40-updates/REC-html40-19980424-errata
instead of http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/html40-updates/REC-html40-19971218-errata
