Hello Ian, Arnaud, Dave,... I just found a little problem in the HTML 4.0 spec. Please add this to the list of errata: In http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/struct/text.html#h-9.1, the ASCII form feed (, ^L) is listed as being handled as whitespace. But in the SGML declaration,  is not allowed at all (see http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/sgml/sgmldecl.html). Because the validator has rejected  for ages, I guess the best solution is to eliminate it in 9.1, or to put in a note saying that treating it as space is error behaviour. Regards, Martin.
