Interesting perspective... my reaction to this would be to say that  
while it sounds inviting to preserve the "purity" of HTML and ensure  
that less and less bad HTML is generated, I find it would come at a  
really high price...

HTML should remain the language of the people! At least, we should  
fight to preserve it so, for as long as we can before having to let  
it go. :)
