whitespace and select1's

Hi,

We are having an issue with whitespace and select1's. Assume that I have:

<xf:value>
   1
</xf:value>

inside a select1's item. We need to know:

1) is this a valid xsd:integer? (think about the spaces, carriage return
s and line feeds)
2) if I select this item into my instance data, are the spaces, cr's and
lf's preserved?

This stems from a Mozilla bug:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=344693

Any insight from the working group would be great. I think this would
be a good item to clarify in the errata, too.

Please let me know what you think,
