I believe it should be: Field "F" is required when: Required(F) and Required(Parent(F)) and Required(Parent(Parent(F))) and ... On the other hand I have, in vain, spent the weekend trying to think of an example where the above behavior is essential. So maybe it is not needed but I believe a more expressive definition is better when it comes to user interaction. Gut feelings are not always to be heeded.
