Yes, the syntax is below:

  font-synthesis: none | [ weight || style ]

The default value is 'weight style', i.e. both fake bold and italics which 
is the norm with implementations today for families that lack bold or italic faces.

So what you're looking for is exactly what the example in the spec shows, use 'none'
to turn off both types of synthetics:
