In an earlier thread on www-style [1], it was said that there is value in re-ordering web font tables for better layout performance [2] i.e. ensuring all the metrics layout depends on are present before the larger glyph data is beneficial. If this is true, should WebOTF recommend that tools that produce those fonts should reorder the table data ? We don't want to require UAs to depend on it but if this is valuable, it would be helpful to describe this imo.
